Something in the Air

 Earlier this week I mentioned about some new designs I was working on... 

On the right, Black and White "Eric" was inspired by Harvey and the Rabbit advert that was on TV last year

And the Grey number, "Eardley" well I wanted to make a dog with BIG EARS and this is what came out. I am also really happy with the new body shape..

And this little guy, who is 50 Years old this year, with a repaired and re-stuffed neck, but minus his tail, probably has a lot to answer for as an inspiration for all my animal crafts.. Thank you Candy.

In honour of "sticky dogs" at Dogs Trust

You may, or may not believe this, but my dog sock animals are inspired by a combination of 
a)the kind of material I have to work with(pure wool, slightly felted is always the best)and how I can manipulate it.
and
b) A real life dog that I know or one from the "sticky" dogs gallery at Dogs Trust . These looking for a sponsor because they really can't be re-homed easily, I guess because many don't look that cute. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

New Arrival

After years of being one of  many Frank the dog was left alone last summer when Max checked out. Never the most demonstrative of souls, Frank has looked a little quiet/lonely of late. So, when a friend mentioned that she had heard of a very very shy Cocker Spaniel looking for a home,  we decided to give it a whirl and see how she got on with Mr F.
Last week "Maggie" ( or Madge, Peggy or Magda) arrived, and so far... it's OK. Here she is

Spring at last and Frank decided to check out the latest garden produce.... 

And chill out on the couch later...it's what Sundays are for.

  

2010 Rewards to Dogs Trust

A few words about Dogs Trust, a wonderful charity that re-homes dogs and looks after those that are hard to re-home for one reason or another. I always make a donation each year and 10% of Crazyhound sales go to Dogs Trust at the end of each year. 

This year I have decided to use Crazyhoud proceeds to sponsor a Dogs Trust dog - and here she is.... Sharon who lives at the Shoreham branch of Dogs Trust. Sharon has lived with the trust since 1998 and she had a bad start in life. Sharon is just too nervous of people to be re-homed and is one of three long term residents. She gets to play on the beach and in the sea and  those who bought from Crazyhound last year have helped Sharon to keep on having a nice time. Thank you.
